"Because not all nudes have not been treated equally"
Once upon a time (and by that we mean last year), the definition of "nude" seemed to be a lonely shade of beige. This barely-there thong from Nudz comes in 10 shades, sizes S-XL. Each shade is named after a different celebrity, from Scarlett to Lupita.
"What is nude for one woman isn't nude for another," Nudz founder Sheila Donaldson reiterates. It is this line of thought, plus the immense desire for a brown strapless bra, that led to her launching the brand. Each color is named after a notable celebrity—Scarlett (Johansson) to Alek Wek— and there are 10 in total.
Miami native Sheila Donaldson is on a mission to #BanishBeige as the default nude. Recognizing that what is nude for one woman isn’t nude for another the company titled its ten distinct shades, The New Nudes, and is challenging the lingerie industry's narrow definition of beige as the default nude.
